About BusMan NFC-based rider manifes
BusMan is a rider manifest manager that’s based on NFC (Near Field Communications RFID) tags. Let’s say you have shuttle bus route with one round trip per day, and a limited number of riders, not all of whom ride every day. Issue them an inexpensive NFC tag (the app supports NTAG213 and similar) encoded with their name and phone number. When they board and present their badge on leg 1 of the route, the app adds them to the manifest. When they board for the return leg of the trip, the rider is removed from the manifest. When it’s time to depart, the driver can quickly see who, if anyone, has failed to board.
Riders are greeted by name. Greetings can be customized for time and date, for specific users, or both. A custom message file can be automatically refreshed from a website.
BusMan is Open Source software. See https://github.com/rschnapp/BusMan for details.
